Jesús R. Ponce, better known as “Ricardo,” to his family and friends, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 7, 2018. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by his loved ones.
Ricardo was born in Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico. He later came to the United States, where he came in search of a better life. In 2003, he met the love of his life, Sara, whom he married in 2005. Soon after that they welcomed four beautiful children.
Ricardo was a very hard worker and a very responsible father. He was a very happy person who never met a stranger. He had a good heart. Ricardo was also an animal lover who enjoyed raising different animals. During his spare time, Ricardo loved spending time with his wife and four children. His favorite hobby was fishing, along with his family. Ricardo also loved to travel. He will be greatly missed.
Ricardo was preceded in death by his mother, Margarita Solis, father Joaquin Solís, and several siblings, Joaquin Ponce, Manuela and Antonio Armendáriz.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Ponce, and four children, María Fernanda, Saray, Jesús and Lesley; as well as his siblings, Mario Ponce, Blanca E. Hernandez, Dora Elia Ponce, Griselda Ponce, Juana Ponce and Juan R. Ponce; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services began Friday, Feb. 16; with a viewing for the family; and Saturday at Misión Pentecostal Church. Burial was to be shortly afterward at Mexia City Cemetery.
