Hoi Dang Vuong, of Mexia, passed away Dec. 7, 2017 in Houston at the age of 70. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel.
Hoi was born March 19, 1947 in Ha Noi, Vietnam to Vuong Dang Than and Nguyen Thi Biu. He received his pharmaceutical degree in Vietnam and, later, attended the University of Texas in Austin to receive his accreditation to practice in Texas. Hoi began working at the Mexia State Supported Living Center in 2006 and retired in 2012.
While in Austin, Hoi met and married the love of his life, Lang Thi Tran, in 1993. He was not only a wonderful husband, but also a proud and loving father of two sons. His family was his pride and joy. Hoi was a faithful Christian; he began each morning reading and studying his Bible. Along with spending time with his family and reading his Bible, he loved to swim.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Vuong Tuong, Vuong Tan, Vuong Bao and Vuong Duong.
Hoi is survived by his wife, Lang Tran; sons, Vuong Dang Hai and Vuong Dang Hoa; and sisters, Vuong Thai Lai and Vuong Doan Trang.
