Rose Black

Rose Black was born in Mexia on July 17, 1927. Always a kind and gentle soul, she passed away peacefully on Feb. 22, 2017.
Rose graduated from Mexia High School, Class of 1944. She was a Charter Member of Northside Baptist Church.  On Sept. 7, 1947, she married her lifelong partner, A C Black.
Waco, soon after, became their home.  Rose worked at the Elite Café, and in later years, for Home Interiors.  She became a longtime active member of the Methodist Church in Waco.
Rose’s greatest love was for her family.  She was a Christian with a giving heart and always treated people the way she wanted to be treated, with love and respect.   
She is survived by her daughters Cinda Kraft and husband Robert, and Candace Greene and husband Daryl Greene; three grandchildren, Kathryn Kraft Greving, Jennifer Kraft Isernhagen, and John Greene; three great-grandchildren, David Greving, Thomas Isernhagen, and Allison Rose Isernhagen; two loving sisters, Sylvia Johnson and Mary Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and Inez Ingram; husband of 56 years, AC Black; brothers, Hubert Ingram and James O. “Doc” Ingram; and sister, Anna Faulkner.
On Monday, Feb. 27, visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. and the service will be at 1 p.m. at Oak Crest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, Waco. Visitors may sign the guest book at oakcrestwaco.com.
