The family of Lucille Hunt sent her on her way by Moore’s angelic hosts on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Manor Nursing Home of Mexia.
Viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 29 at the funeral home. Funeral services are Saturday, April 30, at 1 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 405 S. Belknap St. in Mexia, with the pastor, Rev. Robert Campbell, officiating. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. until services begin at 1 p.m. at the church.
Hunt was born June 3, 1931 in Oakwood, to Elbert Robinson and Minnie L. Smiley Foster. She grew up in Mexia and graduated from Dunbar High School. She returned to Mexia after living in Midland. Lucille had a passion for food service and worked in hotels, restaurants and the Mexia State School.
At the time of her death, she was a member of the St. Luke United Methodist Church, where she had served as secretary of the Sunday school and the United Methodist Women.
Surviving her are her children, Willie LaVern Washington Bradley and Alice Faye Washington Smith, both of Mexia, and George Lee Stephens of Dallas; eight grandchildren, Sophia R. Busby, Tabatha R. Hawkins, Donavan Deshard Smith, Stephen Jackson, Dominique Greer, Sonya LaShell Washington, Monique Rogers and Tarrance Lott; a host of great- and great-great-randchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home, 406 Monroe St. in Teague, is serving the Hunt family.
