Carolyn Jannette Talbot, of Mexia, passed away May 28, 2018, in Groesbeck, at the age of 68. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 31, at Blair-Stubbs Chapel, with Mr. Craig Tappe officiating. Interment was in the Mexia Cemetery. Ben Talbot, Justin Talbot, Warren Talbot, Dillon Dabney, Anthony Pruitt Sr. and John Outland served as pallbearers.
Carolyn was born April 7, 1950, in Tahoka, to Clyde and Inez Cross Beasley. She grew up in Mexia and attended Mexia schools. She worked for Safeway for 11 years prior to retiring from the Mexia State School, after 21 years of service, as a Supervisor on the Martin Unit.
Carolyn was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She looked forward to and enjoyed nothing more than having all her family together; that was the highlight of her life. Carolyn met everyone with a friendly smile, loved being around people and was a friend to many. She also liked gardening, traveling and going to the Shreveport Casino.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son Danny Dwayne Pounder.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Talbot, of Mexia; daughter Lisa Pounder, of Waco; stepchildren Ben Talbot and wife Chrissy, and Sarah Haynes and husband Michael; grandchildren Amber Pounder, Jessica Pounder, Danielle Pounder, Taylor Pounder, Jordan Hamilton, Kaitlyn Pounder and Nichelle Musick; sister Ida Boyd; best friend Ruth Ann Allen; and many nieces and nephews.
