Harvey Hodge Sr., 85, of Groesbeck, came to his peaceful end at his home on May 13, 2018.
A celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday, May 22, at the Lone Star Baptist Church, 629 N. Grayson in Groesbeck at 11 a.m. Viewing will be held at Dorsey-Keatts Funeral Home, 602 N. Ross in Mexia, on Monday, May 21, from 1 to 6 p.m.
Born Dec. 22, 1932, in Groesbeck, he was the seventh of nine sons born to Ruben and Idella (neé Davis) Hodge. Harvey was raised in Groesbeck and attended public schools, graduating from Blackstone High School. He received his post-secondary degrees from Paul Quinn College and Baylor University, and served in the U.S. Air Force before retiring as a Staff Sergeant in 1972.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers; daughter Deborah Taylor; and grandson Tommie Taylor.
