Johnny Ray McManus, Sr., 65, of Mexia, passed away Dec. 31, 2017, at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 5, at 10 a.m. at Corley-Porter Funeral Home, with Brother Eddie Acord officiating. Burial will be at Bell Cemetery in Wilmot, Ark. Visitation with the family present will be Thursday evening 6-8 p.m. at Corley-Porter Funeral Home. There will also be a viewing on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Jones Hartshorn Funeral Home, in Hamburg, Ark. from 10 a.m. to noon, prior to interment at Bell Cemetery at 2 p.m..
Johnny was born April 15, 1952, in Wilmot, Ark. to Archie “Jack” and Nellie Ruth Spires McManus. He has been in the Limestone County community since the early 70’s and loved his community and fellow brothers. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and brother to all. Johnny was the founder of the NEWS Motorcycle Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie “Jack” and Nellie Ruth Spires McManus; sister Jackie Ruth McManus; brother-in-law Byron Smith; niece Nikki Carpenter and father-in-law Blake Johnson. Johnny is survived by his wife, Margie McManus; children, Joey Anderson and wife Ginger, Varinia Kirk and husband Bob, Johnny Ray McManus Jr. and wife Shelina, and Kristi Hawkins and husband Clay; grandchildren Samantha Klink, Melissa McManus, Jacob Anderson, Jake Klink, Blake McKinney, Allison McManus, Austin Anderson, Caleb Heard, Lily Kirk, R.J. Kirk, Cade Hawkins and Paige Hawkins; great-grandson Lyrik Ramirez; sisters Anita McManus, and Betty Acord and husband Eddie; brother Leroy McManus; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Erler, Clay Hawkins, Cade Hawkins, Mike Jones, Larry Parr, Big Man Eric Lundh, Flipper Leslie Neal, Baby Boy Eric Netherland and Toby Bain. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Everett, John Marley, Clay Smith Brian Acord, Jacob Anderson Joey Anderson, Lil John, Byron Smith, Samuel Smith, Austin Anderson and R.J. Kirk.
