Susan Gail Holder

Susan Gail Holder passed away Dec. 8, 2017 in Mexia at the age of 54. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia with the Reverend Clifton Jones officiating.
Susan was born June 3, 1963 in Wurzburg, Germany to Billy Jack Hart and Fannie Jean Reid Lee. She graduated from Jonesboro High School. Susan worked in the prison system for 25-plus years, she was currently employed as the Office Administrator of the Maintenance Department in Marlin. On Nov. 7, 2014, she married her loving husband, Weldon Dewayne Holder, in Mexia.
Susan was raised by her mother and step-father, as her father had passed away when she was very young. He treated her just as his daughter and she loved him dearly. She was a loving wife, daughter and sister. As a little girl, she developed a love for horses that continued throughout her life. Susan became a barrel racer and competed in numerous rodeos. She also loved her cats and enjoyed playing the piano and keyboard in Dewayne’s band.
She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Jack Hart; and sister, Betty.
Susan is survived by her loving husband, Weldon Dewayne Holder of Mexia; parents, James C. and Fannie Jean Lee of Gatesville; and two sisters, Rachel and Jackie.
