Johnnie Lee Jones

Johnnie Lee Jones was born March 10, 1932 in Limestone County, to the parentage of Arthur and Valerie Thomas. She passed away May 18, 2016.
She married Tracy Jones on Sept. 8,1947 and to that union 13 children were born; seven boys and six girls.
She was preceded in death by her parentss; husband, Tracy Jones; sons, R.L. Jones and Ray Jones; brothers, R.L. Thomas, Joe Thomas, L.C. Milus and M.C. Jennings; sisters, Corine Gibson, Gertrude Parker and LuBerta Thomas; and step-daughter, Mauldie Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, T.J. Jones (Althia) of Fort Worth, Johnnie Mae Whiteside of Caldwell, Horace Jones of Lacy Lakeview, J.L. Jones (Marie) of Clovis, N.M., Bertha Walker (I.W.) of Borger, S.J. Jones (Patricia) of Chattanooga, Tenn., Francies Levels (Waylen) of Mexia, Ricky Jones (Regina) of Mansfield, Shirley Marie Jones of Groesbeck, Freddie White (Robert) of Groesbeck, Lisa Jones (Andre) of Paris, Texas; brothers, Gifford Thomas and Richard Thomas of Lubbock; sister, Rosie Williams of Dallas; brothers-in-law, David Jones of Omaha Neb., and Napolean “Robert” Jones of Mart; sisters-in-law, Frankie Milus of Groesbeck, Ellise Harrison of Omaha, Neb. and Evelyn Thomas of Groesbeck.
Public viewing for Johnnie Jones is Friday, May 27, from noon to 6 p.m. at Pearly Gates Funeral Home in Mexia. Funeral services are Saturday, May 28, at noon at Lone Star Baptist Church in Groesbeck.
Services entrusted to Pearly Gates Funeral Home of Mexia under the direction of Dr. Cedrick Gamble.
