Jerry Lynn Maxwell, 63, went to his heavenly home November 10, 2016 in the VA Hospital, Amarillo after a short illness surrounded by his loved ones. Graveside services, with Military Honors, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15 in the Mexia City Cemetery. Visitation with the family was from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral home.
Jerry was born in Wellington on Aug. 1953, the sixth son to Ernest and Opal Irene (Young) Maxwell. He married Diana Rodriquez on Aug. 28, 1984 in Memphis.
Jerry proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy as a Dental Tech. At the time of his death he was employed with Tyson Foods in Amarillo. His greatest joys were his children and grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Diana; daughter, Ashley Irene Maxwell; and son, Brian Lee Maxwell; and brothers, Ernest, Jr. and Johnny Maxwell.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Garza and Steven Rodriquez and wife, Amy, of Mexia; daughter-in-law, Yesenia Maxwell, of Mexia; grandchildren, Madison, Jaley, and Emma Rodriguez, Elijah Garza, Brian Lee, Jr and Aaden Maxwell, all of Mexia; four brothers, Wayne Maxwell and wife, Shirley, Pittsburg, Don Maxwell and wife, Marilyn, Mena, Ark., Ernest Lee Maxwell and wife, Rita, Claremore, Okla., and Harold Maxwell of Groesbeck; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
