Trenton Douglas Lenamond, of Groesbeck, passed away at Limestone Medical Center on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at age 36.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 29, at the Church on the Rock in Groesbeck, with Pastor Billy Bever officiating. Burial followed in Cobb Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clint Winstead, Colin Lenamond, Josh Lenamond, Bubba Wedgman, Heath Masters, Desi Lenamond, Jimmy Winstead, and Lance Pollard. Honorary pallbearers were Ramsey Smith, Eric Lundh, Ty Pagel, Clay Wimberly, Justin Duke, Ricky Williamson, Keith Ailes, Billy Williams, Darius Quinlan, Clint Bellah, Larry Thompson and Dusty Capps.
Trent was born Dec. 5, 1979 in Corsicana, to Jimmy and LaVaughn Lenamond. He attended Groesbeck High School. He learned to work at an early age with his Dad, and worked all his life with him in the drilling business, first in Double J Drilling, and then as a partner in Limestone Drilling Company. He lived all his life in the Box Church area.
As a youngster, he participated in ranch rodeos. His main interest was in hunting, digging and collecting arrowheads, an interest he also shared with his Dad and other family and friends. He learned to scuba dive on a trip to Cozumel, and added many great finds to his arrowhead collection while diving in the Navasota River and Lake Limestone. Although Trent would hunt and kill a deer, he had a soft heart that kept him from wanting to eat one, and so he gave his kills away, to not be wasted.
He had a soft heart for all pets, with many dogs and cats, and for family and friends. Family was first in his life, but he would give his shirt off his back to anyone who needed it, and anyone could always find a place to stay on his couch when needed. He liked to socialize and be with his family, his kids, and “his crew.”
Trent was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arnold Lenamond; Grandma Susie and PaPa Earl Armstrong; PawPaw Wesley Winstead; aunts, Anna McVay and Renne Yarbrough; uncles, Doug Lenamond and PeeWee Lenamond; and cousins, Brenton Lenamond, Blake McIntire, and Jacoby Arollo.
He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and LaVaughn Lenamond of Groesbeck; his children, Taylor Lenamond of Groesbeck, Coltin Lenamond of Thornton, Caden Lenamond of Thornton, and Laney Lenamond of Groesbeck; fiancee, Kassie Bates and her children, Trevor Bourgeois and Wyatt Rhodes; sister, Destiny Lenamond of Kosse and nieces, Summer Dugan, Andee Dugan, and Tori Burge of Kosse; sister, Tasha Ayres of Thornton and nephew and niece, Kolby Ayres and Jacie Steen of Thornton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family.
